The Actuarial University platform is compatible with the latest versions of the following browsers:
Web Browser eReader
*IE’s Javascript engine is slow compared to more modern browsers, which can impact the performance of the webviewer in IE. Please be aware of this possible limitation.
Digital-Rights Management (DRM) means that digital content has undergone encryption for the purposes of protecting unauthorized access, copying, sharing, editing, or other access that is not permitted by the publisher.
The “.msixbundle” file type is a Windows 10 installation application for Windows Store. It is the newer version of a .exe file.
If Windows 10 is set up correctly, it should run the appropriate installer. However, please note that some corporations and universities will disable this installation method. They will disable this because their IT department doesn't want individuals installing third party apps without asking them first. If you are not able to download the “.msixbundle” file type, please reach out to your IT department and speak with them about the issue.
DRM content licenses provide you with access to material for a set period of time. Content that has expired will not appear in your list of documents within the Eureka! application. To see a complete list of your digital tools, both active and expired, visit your Profile/Product History on the Actuarial University platform.
Some companies will prevent 3rd party applications like ours from communicating over the Internet without permission.
Companies can do this with various IT policies, anti-virus programs and network/proxy settings. It is a good idea for you to get in touch with your IT department to have them make the adjustments necessary for our app to communicate with our servers over the Internet. They may be able to adjust the permission settings for your device and will likely be able to identify where the data is being held up.
If they add an exception for https://www.actuariallearning.com, it should allow you to utilize Eureka from your device.
DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. DRM-protected content has been encrypted and assigned specific user permissions to uphold the copyright of that property and prevent non-approved use. DRM protections outline specific usage terms including duration of access, printing, downloading, copying, sharing, and the number of devices a user is permitted to use. DRM encryption may not be removed from digital materials; attempts to do so are a violation of the Eureka! terms and conditions and can result in incident reports. Incident reports may be distributed to employers and/or professional membership organizations to notify them about members’ breaches of their Professional Code of Conduct.
Eureka! is an eReader program built exclusively for use with DRM protected documents distributed through ArchiMedia Advantage, Inc. learning platforms. Eureka! is supported for use on most devices: web-browser, iOS and Android mobile applications, as well as Mac and PC desktop applications.
You will receive immediate access to the Eureka! browser eReader when you click on the cover image thumbnail of your content on your product page. Look for a Eureka! logo (a purple Sigma icon with a gold crown) to find buttons for you to click and download the desired mobile and/or desktop applications for Eureka!. As with any software, Eureka! will undergo regular updates and improvements, so please check regularly to make sure you are using the most current version of the software. (To find the mobile applications directly in the Google Play or App Store, search “Eureka Viewer” or “Eureka ArchiMedia”.) The Eureka! eReader and its applications are provided free of charge.
DRM content licenses are fulfilled through your eLearning platform once the product access keycode has been activated. Access keycodes typically get delivered by email and, for most products, are sent to the “ship to” email address of your order. For few printed materials the access keycode for that product is printed on a brightly colored interior page (manuals) or beneath a scratch-off label on the cover of the shipped product (textbooks).
First, verify you order includes access to digital material. Confirm the keycode won’t be provided as a printed code on the cover or an interior page of a print-only order.
If you are certain a keycode should be delivered, double-check that the “ship to” email address on your order is spelled correctly. Confirm that messages from the bookstore vendor are not inadvertently being filtered into junk, spam, or bulk folders. Contact your bookstore vendor if you need to make corrections to misspelled “ship to” email addresses and/or request that a keycode be resent.
No. DRM protected materials are not accessible using other secured or unsecured digital formats. Some products may be available for purchase in a printed format as well. If you are unable or unwilling to use the required software, please check the product listing on the vendor website to review purchase options before placing your order.
Yes. Users may utilize DRM content offline, for 5 days at a time, using the Windows or Mac desktop application, the Android mobile application, or the iOS mobile application.
Once the product keycode has been activated on the eLearning platform, the digital content is available for viewing online and offline. For offline access, please install the Eureka! mobile or desktop application of your choice and login to the application using the same username and password credentials as your eLearning portal and bookstore account logins. Once you are logged into the application, active licensed digital material will appear in a list of thumbnail view on the opening page. Select and download the material you want to read offline. If your offline access comes to exceed the limited time, you will receive a notice to reconnect to the internet to gain additional time for use, online or offline.
The Eureka! eReader provides tools to take notes, make comments & add annotations (such as underline, cross out, and highlight text) within the application. Touchscreen devices allow you to add hand-written notations on the document. These marks or annotations are recorded but do not change or edit the source document. Annotations will sync across devices, but use caution if simultaneously using online and offline versions of the same content interchangeably, because annotations can be lost; annotations made to an offline version of a document will overwrite annotations made to the online version as soon as the offline reconnects to the internet and sync. Overwritten annotations cannot be recovered in the software or applications. Contact technical support (support@actuariallearning.com) as soon as possible (no more than 5 days from an overwrite incident) to inquire whether recovery is possible. The less time and fewer changes made since the incident, the greater likelihood information may be recovered.
The default web browser on your device will launch the Eureka! eReader when you click to open a Eureka! DRM document on the Actuariallearning.com platform or ActuarialUniversity.com platform.

Your document permissions must include printing rights in order to print.
Content “Notes” that have been added to a document are able to be printed regardless of the printing rights for the published content. “Notes” made to a document with printing rights will not appear embedded or entered onto a document page in printed format. When printed, notes always render separately from the primary document.
Print functionality is only available through the PC and Mac Desktop Applications. To print, please follow these steps:
Whether your DRM license permits printing of the document or not, you are permitted to print your “Notes”, following these instructions:
DRM content licenses provide you with access to material for a set period of time. Content that has expired will not appear in your list of documents within the Eureka! application. To see a complete list of your digital tools, both active and expired, visit your home page (“My Learning Tools”) on Actuariallearning.com
Some content requires additional activation to see in your Eureka! application. If you think content is missing from your Eureka! application list, but the access to your seminar is still active, you may have access to a “Eureka! Trial.” The easiest way to tell if you have a “Eureka! Trial” is if the access to your manual should be less than your access to the whole seminar. Pre-access, or temporary access to previous editions, will always need an additional activation. To do that, login to your account, go to your seminar, and click the manual once to open the webviewer. Doing that once will activate the material and it will show in your list of materials on the Eureka! applications.
Access Keys are unique strings of numbers and/or letters that unlock access to pre-assigned material for a specific period of time.
Access Keys are either delivered by email by the bookstore or vendor at time or purchase, or included with a physical copy of your material.
Watch for emails with the subject line naming the vendor and “digital content” or “seminar key” and your order ID number.
If you didn’t receive an emailed access key in your inbox, check your junk and/or spam filter folders.
The most common error with an invalid access key is one that has already been activated. On the home page, please check “My Products” and make sure you do not already have access to the material.
If you cannot find the material there, the most common error is logging in with a different username/password/vendor combination than you did when you first entered the keycode. If you have a second account, please login to that one and see if your products are there.
If you do not know the correct vendor of your account, please contact support and we can assist
Login information is created simultaneously with accounts on the bookstores ACTEX | Mad River and The Actuarial Bookstore. Some users have accounts associated with both bookstores and/or a third-party university bookstore.
In the event you have accounts with more than one vendor, please be mindful of which account you use to login and activate an access key so you do not have difficulty locating your material at a later date.
For your protection, our site will prompt you to use a password with a more difficult combination of letters (lower case and upper case), characters, & numbers. Passwords are required to have a minimum of 8 characters. If you know you have an account but are unable to remember your password, please select “Forgot Password?” on the login window. Please be aware, by changing a password to your account on the Actuarial University platform, the equivalent Vendor account (with ACTEX Learning or The Actuarial Bookstore) is updated simultaneously, requiring that you use the new password to login to that bookstore account going forward.
Customers who do not have an account on ACTEX Learning, The Actuarial Bookstore or Actuarial University do need to create one in order to access most digital content. At www.actuarialuniversity.com , Please choose “New Customer? Register Here” at the bottom of the sign-in window and follow the instructions to create an account.
The home page is where you’ll find a complete list of exam dashboards, your owned products, and the list of product categories. You’ll also find a list of all topics currently in our platform, helpful links, and your profile.
If you have any announcements, those will appear at the top of the home page.

At the top of the exam dashboard, there is also place to choose your exam date and a link that will take you to the SOA site to register if you haven’t already.
Announcements are filtered to anything relevant to that exam or your products for the exam. The topic search is also filtered for anything revelant to that exam.
On the exam dashboard you’ll find a planner. This will help lay out the material with date ranges to keep you on track studying for a specifc deadline.
Choose the template you’d like to use and imput your dates. The planner will automatically divide out the material and give date ranges that fit within your start and end dates.
This issue typically occurs if you are not logging into the portal with the same credentials you used to register the material (including the vendor).
If you aren’t sure and you have the order # or access key, we can lookup what credentials you used.
Access keys can only be entered once. Entering an access key that has already been registered will generate this message. This issue typically occurs if you are not logging into the portal with the same credentials you used to register the material (including the vendor).
